What to Expect
Starting nursery for the first time can be quite daunting both for your child as well as you as parents/carers so we offer every opportunity for you both to feel comfortable with the experience. We encourage you and your child to visit the nursery, or if it suits you better we can also offer virtual visits via Zoom with the Senior Team and they are happy to offer any reassurance and answer any questions you may have. Your child will be offered a series of staged visits dependent upon their needs prior to actually starting at Nursery. We have continued a protocol we introduced during the pandemic that parents/carers do not enter the setting as we have found that children coming into Nursery on their own with a familiar member of staff seems to be less stressful for the children and is working very well.
To help settle your child into Nursery life with us and to provide topics and activities that will interest and stimulate their learning, you will have an opportunity to tell us more by completing a ‘All about me’ form at Registration. The online version can be accessed by clicking here – All About Me.
All children attending the nursery will have a key worker allocated to them, this person is responsible for the up keep of your child’s records and these can be viewed at any time. The Nursery holds three Parents Sessions throughout the school year, so you are able to meet with your child’s key person to discuss individual learning and your child’s progress. As a parent you are your child’s main educator so it is important you communicate with staff on all areas of your child’s development
