It All Began …..<\/span><\/strong><\/h3>\n

In 1975 by local parents wanting to offer their children an opportunity to meet and socialise with their peers and introduce them to the ‘learning experience’ prior to starting school.\u00a0 \u00a0As of the 4th<\/sup> July 2011 we changed our name from Thurgoland Pre-School to Thurgoland Childcare.<\/span><\/p>\n

40+ years later we’ve gone from strength to strength and continues to excel as a provider of excellent e\"\"arly years education within a purpose-built setting with very good Ofsted Reports<\/a>.<\/strong><\/span><\/span>\u00a0\u00a0<\/strong><\/span><\/p>\n

We offer year-round full-time day care for children from 6 weeks to 4 years and although Thurgoland Childcare has\u00a0developed and changed with the times, its original<\/span> Aims<\/span><\/strong><\/a> have remained constant.<\/span><\/p>\n

At Thurgoland Childcare we fully appreciate the importance of the early years in a child\u2019s longer-term development and aim to provide warm and consistent care that is flexible and sensitive to their individual needs, allowing them to progress at their own natural pace in a stimulating environment.\u00a0 This together with our practical understanding of the physical, emotional, social and intellectual needs of pre-schoolers, provides our children with an idea springboard from which confident and successful schooling can follow.<\/span><\/p>\n

Set in the grounds of the Thurgoland C of E School, we overlook the school playing fields and enjoy\u00a0views towards Green Moor and Black Moor.<\/span><\/p>\n

Thurgoland is an attractive and highly regarded village on the edge of the Pennines.\u00a0 It is a thriving and growing village, especially popular with families with excellent and well supported community facilities.\u00a0\u00a0It is enviable situated not just for its location overlooking the Pennine hills, but also for its proximity to the larger urban areas of Sheffield, Barnsley, Wakefield and Huddersfield.<\/span><\/p>\n

We are a charitable organisation and a non-profit setting headed up by a voluntary board of Directors made up of both parents and members of the local community.\u00a0 The Directors<\/span><\/strong><\/a> have a vital role to play in steering the setting and ensuring that it remains a viable and welcoming Nursery.\u00a0\u00a0We also encourage support from parents of children attending the setting \u00a0to help out with fundraising and other initiatives to enhance what the setting can offer to their children.<\/span><\/p>\n

With this voluntary support, it\u00a0means nursery fees, funding and fund raising go directly back into the facility – so our children ultimately benefit.<\/span><\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
